Finding the Right Spouse
e're coming up on the marriage season and I thought I'd post a little reminder about how to tell when you have found the right person. A mother recently thanked me. Her daughter had called off the wedding a few days before the event and felt terrible guilt. I gave her the four questions and she answered No to every one. She felt incredibly relieved. Now she is marrying a fireman and can answer Yes to all four.
Now it's your turn.
If you think you have found a potential spouse, ask yourself these questions. If you can honestly answer Yes to all four, don't hesitate.
- If this person were to stay just as they are for the rest of their lives, would that be okay?
- Would you like to become more like this person?
- If you were to have children, would you want to have children with this person?
- Would you want your child to grow up to be like this person?
